Second Wind Consultants hired Sally Barton as director of special assets and portfolio solutions, a role that will have an impact on banks, asset-based lenders, law firms, and turnaround consultants; Barton will facilitate senior creditor exits and increased recovery value through Article 9 reorganization.
Barton has spent her career in the banking industry, with her most recent position as senior vice president in the asset recovery group (workout) at KeyBank. In this role, she managed a portfolio of troubled upper middle-market and syndicated deals and was responsible for assessing risk, establishing workout strategies, monitoring performance, determining liquidation strategies, working with counsel on all aspects of a workout, including negotiation of forbearance agreements, bankruptcies and debtor-in-possession financing; and actively working with financial advisors.
Barton has worked for multiple banks and in multiple different roles, including credit analyst as part of a formal credit training program, relationship manager in the middle market, senior credit officer involved in training and credit approvals and workout manager.
Barton has been active in the Turnaround Management Association for more than 20 years and served as president of the northern Ohio chapter in 2015 and 2016 after serving many years and on various committees on the local board. Since her term as northern Ohio chapter president, she has been active with TMA Global, having served on multiple committees, including the global executive board and board of trustees, co-chair of the TMA Annual held in Cleveland in 2019, the nominations committee, TMA CEO of contract negotiations, vice president of marketing and communications and corporate secretary. She is currently serving as vice president of finance in 2024, which includes roles on both the finance committee and audit committee. She was awarded the TMA Northern Ohio Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
