Resolution No.1 … “Ask For Help!”

A Very Happy and Healthy New Year  To All.

Of course during this time of the year we reflect on the past and look with great optimism towards  the future.  It is a time for the annual “New Year’s Resolution!”  What individual traits which exist in  each one of us can we improve upon to better our lives in 2012!

It begins with soul searching …. taking time out for each of us to inspect ourselves.  The majority of our planned changes lead toward gaining and maintaining a more happy and prosperous life – a life which touches not only individual joys  we aspire to,   but affects those we cherish and love!

Some resolutions we can personally take control of.   Eating better!   Exercising more!  Being true to one’s every day committments!   Becoming an honorable person!   Helping the less fortunate!   Saving money … planning for retirement!   The list goes on and on.  Fill in your personal “resolution.”   These are entities you have total control over! You will succeed or fail based on YOUR  actions only!

There is another  resolution I would like to touch upon.  There’s no  ”Self Service”  on this one.   It is one trait that most people – man or woman – especially business entrepeneurs,  have a difficult time keeping true to there promise on ….. ASKING FOR HELP!!!

We all know that the economy has dealt every one a cruel blow.  There is a strain of  ”I can do it on my own”  in every small business owner’s  fiber.  That’s why you ventured out “alone”  to succeed with the dream of owning your own business and prospering.  It started with that dream!   You created a business plan.  You “partnered up” with your lending institutions!  You worked long hours!  Gave it everything you had!  You were fulfilling your committments!   The numbers proved your work wasn’t in vain!  You were succeeding not only for yourself but for that cherished family of yours!   And then … 2008 and beyond came along!!!

It is common to believe that since you encountered success “alone” that you can turn things around “alone!”   Why not?   Before the economy plunged  you  took a business plan on paper and made it a successful prosperous business.   “Nothing’s going to prevent me from recouping and conquering  from something which wasn’t my fault!”

Wrong!  This isn’t a “one on one” pickup game on a basketball court!   It”s “5 on 1 … full court press.”  You need you’re bench strength!!
