Are You Ready To Make The Decision To Survive, Emerge And Prosper?

Sometimes I am amazed by the resistance I see and hear from small business owners. Resistance to change, to risk, to take bold action. I see so many small business owners go down the drain while waiting for something to happen that will change their destiny, afraid to make a decision.

I guess, however, that after watching our country’s leaders do the same thing – avoid the right action that will change their path and thus change the results – how could I expect it from small business owners in similar situations?

Well, I do.

I do because I know what is at risk. I know that your families and jobs and the families of your employees are all at risk. Your employees are expecting you to lead them to safety, not to fail.

So do it. Be the leader you signed up to be when you became a small business owner. Make the only decision you can – and must – make to survive, emerge and prosper. If your revenue is down and your overhead is up and your bank debt is choking the lifeblood out of your heart, do the debt workout. It is the most honorable path to take unless you believe that going down with the ship and taking everyone with you is more honorable.

Yes, there are difficult aspects to the process, some are even painful, but you are not doing it alone and you will succeed. It is like going to the dentist, it hurts but it is the right thing to do and it does more good in the end.

Sacrifice is an important part of survival as is commitment, not giving up. Also, being smart, not allowing emotion or ego to control your actions. Logic must lead the way.

You have a responsibility to lead, so do it.
