THE BOOK

This post will be grass roots.  I am an ex-jock and I will attempt to convey my thoughts on Don Todrin’s newly released book, “SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATING THE DOWNTURN”  using that thought proccess as the backdrop of this blog.

Anyone who has ever played a  sport in which strategy is essential will understand the jist of this script.  In football, my major indulgence,  we have what is called the “play book.”  The “play book”,  to put it in blunt terms,  is “how are we going to beat our opponent!”  It’s not only about running faster or hitting harder …. there must be a game plan involved.   What stengths does our team have and how can we take advantage of the opponents obvious weaknesses.

In order to beat our foe we MUST be on the same page!  We MUST be studying the same “play book!”   Every team member must be applying a co-ordinated effort to reach that same goal – “WINNING!”

Now, let’s take this home!   The name of our team is Second Wind Consultants.  Our colors are red, white, and blue.  Our complex is located in Northampton, Ma.  We travel all over the country and visit various opponents stadiums … “AND WE WIN!!”

Oh!  By the way,   you – the small business owner,  are the “franchise player!”  You are the star of this team.  Our stratedgy to win is based on you!  You create the “highlight film.”   With that  in mind the importance of you studying the “play book”  and understanding how the winners trophy can be attained is critical to the teams success … your success!!

Anyone who has ever competed,  whether it be on the playing field or in the business world knows the thrill of taking home the championship!  It’s a feeling I personally cannot put down on paper.  If you’ve been there you know what I mean.  If you haven’t  I guarranty this team which you are the star of will get you there.

READ THE BOOK!  DO THE WORK!  You the small business owner must know the game plan!  When you miss a block who’s there to make it for you? When you throw an interception who’s going to prevent the opposition from scoring off  the pick!   And oh!!  Who’s going to celebrate when “YOUR TEAM”  scores the ultimate winning touchdown and your family can enbrace the SUPER BOWL TROPHY”  of debt relief!!
