Enter The Working Class Hero

At eight years old my father –in answer to my mother having filed to gain sole legal custody of me- picked me up at school in Lebanon Pennsylvania and left for Florida.  It was 1952, there were no milk carton missing kid portraits.

At eight years old I started my working life by shining shoes in two barbershops in Sebring Florida, six cents for the shine and keep the polish away from the white socks.

I’ve cleaned toilets, worked machine shops and loading docks, mucked stables and been a union steward.  I’ve sold cars, frozen food, uniforms -and Bibles and encyclopedias door to door.

I mention these things to firmly establish myself to you with a back-story that lays claim to my American working class roots.  My education has been gained the hard way.  My dues are paid in full neighbor.

In my freely admitted ‘militantly’ working class opinion, the most important service we provide here at Second Wind is not to the small business owners whom we literally save from the ‘dumpster’, but rather to the wages slaves out there whose employment is saved.  I am proud to be active and fully engaged in that ‘battle’ through my work here.

Second Wind Consultants has a remarkable mandate given to us by the owner:  “Our company will help anyone who calls on us, to the best of our ability, regardless of their ability to pay”. To that end Donald has incorporated Debt Relief Services as a non-profit, so that we can offer help to those who cannot find help anywhere else.  Mom & Pop dreams that have gone south find professional, sympathetic, and most importantly –effective- help here.  I’m proud of what we accomplish by settling crushing debt, and saving family homes.  I sleep well at night.

I will tell you frankly that in my opinion both of the major political parties have betrayed the American working class.  I do find however that the betrayal of the Democratic Party is the most egregious –based upon their vaunted concern for the American worker.

That party’s agenda seems to be creating a nanny state that oversees a bottomless pit of entitlements and programs aimed at creating and mobilizing an underclass of the un-employed, under-employed and un-employable; a crazy quilt of various ‘communities’ comprised of ‘statutory victims’ who look to the government for an endless proliferation of programs and services.

It’s unfortunate that our elected congressional representatives seem to be working hard to turn our country into another socialist banana republic, ruled by dangerously escalating squabbles in the street fueled by the various special interest ‘communities’, rather than ‘doing the people’s business’ and getting the American small business boiler up to steam again.

What we can do here at Second Wind and Debt Relief Services is to save as many small businesses as we can, and as many jobs as we can.

That is our ultimate goal:  To save American small business, one business at a time.  No one else does what we do.

Norman Schell.

That is our ultimate goal:  To save American small businesses, one at a time.  No one is better at it.
