MY FRIEND … MY MENTOR

Let me tell you about my friend and mentor.   His dominating physical stature is matched only by the size of his heart.   When he enters a room his presence is immediately felt by all.   Respect!   Admiration!   All who know  him will tell you those are the words that come to mind when you mention his name.   There is also another emotion that comes to the forefront … Proud!!   Proud that he  represents our company.   He is on the front line of so many inquiries by Small Business Owners who are looking for HELP!!    Although his physical toughness cannot be admired over the phone,   the more important characteristic trait of this  ”Man’s Man”  comes across loud and clear … HIS HEART!    HE TRUELY CARES!    HE LISTENS!   During those calls,   all that are within listening distance turn and are immediately reminded of what we,   SECOND WIND ADVOCATES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN NEED  must represent  to those we come in contact with.   We must have our HEARTS in our work!!   We must TRUELY CARE!!   We must be good LISTENERS,   for each business has it’s own DNA and every situation and solution must be shaped to meet the needs of that business.   My friend and mentor is also a teacher.    He maps out a distinctive strategy for whatever the problem may be in a way that not only educates  but leaves that contact with clarity and a plan …  a plan that ultimately leads to a successful  resolution of the issue at hand.   What the caller doesn’t see however is the relentless follow-up and determination to  ”GET IT RIGHT”   for that owner in need.  Many an adversary on the other end of the line is left with a sence of  respect for the motivation that fuels my friend.   A certain  ”understanding”   that a true professional is on the case.    Every week a letter of appreciation comes in to our office thanking him for a successful resolution to a potentially devastating problem that he helped  resolve.    He was here at the beginning of our quest and continues to remind us of what our goal must always be.   Too pull as many people onto the boat as possible!  No one left in waters which are un-survivable!   His Name Is Norman Schell!!!   It’s what he does!!!   It’s what we all do!!
