Nature’s Fog Vs. Economic Fog
“Onward Through The Fog” …. Here in Massachusetts we have an extension of our state which is named Cape Cod. It’s an area filled with beautiful beaches and unique sea coast communities. Many families use Cape Cod as an escape for relaxation and fun times especially during the summer months. More often than not the weather is especially wonderful, warm clear blue skies with just enough of a constant subtle sea breeze. When you’re “On The Cape” life is wonderful! Last summer I took advantage of the proximity of Cape Cod to where I reside and spent a weekend there. If you’re on “The Cape” spending an afternoon at the beach is a must. It was a warm pleasant day as I sat looking out at what was nature’s perfection. The ocean glistening from the ray’s of the sun … seagauls winging overhead … boaters on the horizon enjoying one of life’s “earned” pleasures … families interacting in a loving caring way … swimmers challenging the huge waves. Life was good!!
Then suddenly something occured. As I sat enjoying what the day was offering, a dense fog rapidly moved in. Within a short period of time the crystal clear day was consumed by a “fog.” People left the water … seagauls were no longer visible … the ocean became dull and gray … parents quickly pursued their children … boater’s images suddenly disappeared. Later on I found out that this is not an unusal occurence on “The Cape.” The fog, depending on moisture in the air vs. temperature, is common – usually disappearing in a short period of time, aided by a “light wind.” Within minutes it did pass through and everything and everyone returned to that wonderful “Cape Cod” experience.
Later that evening I drew a parrallel with nature’s fog and our rallying cry at Second Wind … “Onward Through The Fog.” As a small business owner there was a time when all was clear and bright before you. You were able to enjoy life’s “natural pleasures” as well as the “earned pleasures.” Than the fog rolled in … economic down turn! It wasn’t expected. In short it ruined your day. Unlike nature’s fog it doesn’t disappear on it’s own. Help is needed. A “light wind” is not enough. A STRONG POWERFUL NEVER GIVE IN ”SECOND WIND” is needed. The fog will disappear. The day will become bright once again. The steel gray waters will become blue. What you see on the horizon will again be beautiful. We have been “Battling The Fog” and helping small businesses for over 35 years and have ZERO tollerance for failure when it comes to being victorious in “FOG BUSTING.” You’re day will once again be what you were expecting when you began you’re journey to profitability. Minus “THE FOG!”
