Your Survival Depends On Your Business Skills

We have a new economy, unlike the old one. It’s not as robust, not as profitable. Overhead is up, taxes are up, everything is up. It costs you more to produce less and profits are smaller.

The winning hand will be held by those that run the sharpest businesses. To make money in such a tough business market one needs to be in total control of the various key indicators of their business. The managers must have a clear understanding of their productivity and costs as well as of the overhead burden and control it all or there will be no profit. In fact, those unable to run their business with precision, balancing overhead, costs of goods or services and profitability as well as gross volume, will not only fail to earn a profit but will soon be out of business.

Success can no longer be based on the sheer weight and momentum of an overly zealous consumer demand. Those days are gone. Now the competition is fierce, driving prices down, and the consumer is no longer flush with disposable income.

Sharpen your business skills–it is the only way to win. Implement incentive-based payment programs for your employees and set and monitor key performance indicators measuring productivity and other critical benchmarks. Pay close attention to profitability–not volume at any price–and success is in reach.
