#900. 1.5 million businesses closed last year, it did not have to happen.

It is almost beyond comprehension, the massive amount of loss experienced.

The small business owner who has lost all his investment, probably has sacked his 401k or IRA long ago, maxed out his credit cards ‘borrowed’ his kids college fund, ‘borrowed’ from parents, friends and family, is months behind on his mortgage payment and waiting foreclosure, lost his insurance, waiting for his car to be repossessed, no family vacations scheduled, sleepless nights, very angry and frightened spouse… and this is just for starters, each small business owner has his or her own stories of loss and the effect it is having on their lives and the lives of their families.

The children who see and know the pain their parents are experiencing, and are afraid, who cannot go to summer camp or Disneyland as promised and as the other kids can do, who will not play sports, cannot afford the entry fees or the equipment, who live in a state of uncertainty, and unhappiness robbing them of their childhood, watching heir mother cry to herself as privately as possible but never out of sight of the children…they know.

The lost jobs of the employees, facing the same dilemma as the small business owner, as work is not easily found in this economy, nor will it become easier for many years, and most of the fifteen million unemployed will either take a very long time to recover or will never recover and will never be re-employed. What do they do? What does they tell their families?   How do they survive?

The vendors the business used will not be paid what is owed to them and  they will lose the revenue going forward, probably not devastating but enough of these and the vendor will also fall into category one and two above, it is a slippery slope and once on it, it’s downhill all the way with rapidly building speed.

1.5 million small business owners closed their door in 2009. More will in 2010. the devastation is enormous….what can you do to not join them?

The local community feels the pinch with unpaid property taxes, reduced value of homes, no sate taxes being paid through payroll deductions, and on it goes. No money being spent in the local community, in other local businesses, everyone feels the loss throughout the community. The local drug store, the movie theater, restaurants,  the dry cleaners all lose business as the unemployed have nothing to spend on extras, as they can barely cover food on the table.

This is the real side of the numbers, the human pain and suffering, the children’s pain and suffering, the lost jobs and closed businesses cause many families to self destruct. This is the real cost of the recession. The personal pain.

I submitted my information to Second Wind Consultants about six months ago and had an initial call with a consultant. The consultant indicated he could help me negotiate a settlement for a business loan. We have closed our doors, we are current on making the payments, but want to negotiate a settlement.
    Can you help?
    Please contact me at 480.280.3161
