Escape

Escape is an interesting word.  Almost every single living creature on this planet has something, at some time, they would like to escape from.

Animals have predators, drought, too much heat, too much cold, mostly external factors attacking them, people have mostly factors we bring on ourselves as a race or personally.  Some are the same as the creatures around us, lack of food, something trying to physically harm us, too much heat, too much cold, but many many others are of humanities making.

What are you in need of an escape from?  Is it pain?  The pain of a lost friend or relative?  The pain of an abusive household? Or maybe it is the pain of not knowing where your next meal is coming from or how to keep a roof over your head?  That is a pain most of the country is hoping to escape from these days.

Millions of people are drowning in debt to a degree they never knew was possible.  Creditors are banging on the door, calling the phone, and sending nasty letters to houses in an attempt to scare these people.  The worst part of it all is that most of the people in debt would like nothing better than to pay their bills.  Sound familiar?  Is the escape you personally are looking for an escape from the every day rat race and the stress of life as a whole, or is it more specific to escaping the people chasing you down and putting you on the street because you made a mistake and cannot make payments any longer?

It would be nice if there was a device or pill that simply removed problems or even the stress of problems, but in reality there is not.  There is only if you choose to face your problems head on and handle them or if you bury your head in the sand and hope everything will be alright.  This does not work.  When you were a kid, you could hide under the covers if you heard a noise at night and the monster wouldn’t get you, but that was because the monster was imaginary and so imaginary tactics worked.  Debt is not imaginary.

One of my current clients took that to heart.  He called Second Wind and engaged us to help him because he did not know how to help himself.  He held three companies, two were defunct, but the last had potential, unfortunately the debt of the other’s, one in particular was going to kill him first and keep him from having a home and a job, much less a profitable business.  The workout strategy took almost a month to finalize as his situation was extremely hazardous and the preparations for  this client to emerge successfully in the end were in depth.

The banker involved was so worn down trying to chase down people who he needed to talk to and being forced to sue every guarantor he encountered, he had no idea how to react to a straightforward phone call and even more incredible, WE HAD A PLAN!  I could almost hear the banker sighing in relief as I described what I intended.  The lucrative company was protected and we just closed on a $3,000.00 asset sale for the better of the two companies burdened by debt.  To put this in perspective, the assets were protected, Accounts Receivable was protected, Inventory was protected, the licensing agreements allowing this business to continue were protected all for tiny cash because of the expertise and groundwork done by Second Wind, but mostly because the client wanted to escape more than he wanted to hide.

This client is getting his escape.
