Credit Card Victory

Today I received confirmation from American Express that they are willing to accept a settlement of $25,000 on a debt of $113,000.

This single Settlement would alleviate over half of the client’s outstanding credit card debts.  This is a major victory.  The creditor had been completely against even dealing with a third party in the beginning.  It took over six months of strategy and negotiations and we finally got passed all objections.

This type of settlement just goes to show you that any creditor, even the most intractable, can be dealt with eventually.  The best settlements go all the way to the wire and many times even have a few court served documents involved.  Being able to wait through these stressful events is key for moving the creditors who truly do not want to take a settlement.

Today was a resounding victory for a client who was able to take the heat of a creditor trying everything in their power and putting faith in Second Wind.  As always, when a client truly trusts Second Wind and follows our instructions the outcome is nothing short of pulling off the impossible.  Trust is the highest valued commodity in a workout.
