Yes you can do something today to lower your high interest rates on your credit cards.
My parents taught me to always ask… “You have nothing to lose” they would say, “All they can say is no, …so what, nothing ventured nothing gained,” they would say. I heard this constantly while growing up. They were definitely not talking about lowering credit card interest rates but the principle remains the same, and I have put this principle into practise many many times. Here is what happens and how it works in this situation, its so easy it defies logic.
Call your customer service number found on the back of your credit card or on your invoice. Tell them you have an offer from another company for half the interest rate your current card is requiring and you will close this account out unless they lower your rate. In many instances they will respond on the spot. I have had clients go from 29% to 0 percent for six months and then 8% thereafter, merely by asking. This could mean thousands of dollars saved.
I have even had clients simply call and ask for a lower rate without a reason and get it by simply asking!
Some clients are not so lucky but remain persistent and call back a number of times and if they get a rejection they asked for a manager and frequently the manager will acquiesce and lower their rate significantly.
Sometimes it takes many calls and many rejections, but so what, in the end its a very valuable result and worth the time and effort to accomplish this. It works far more often then you would ever imagine and if persistent it will eventually pay off.
The important revelation here is to understand that the credit card companies WILL negotiate. They will reduce interest to keep you as a client. Few know this and fewer work this angle, so it remains a closely guarded secret that few exploit.
Now you know it, so pick up the phone and save yourself thousands of dollars. You have much to gain and nothing to lose. Do it. Be persistent and after one card agrees, you will understand how easy this is and will negotiate a reduction of interest rates on the rest of your card saving you a small fortune.
Make the call….its easier then you think. If it doesn’t work on the first call, call again. Call for help 413-549-2966.
