An alternative solution to your employee problems, hire the young, the elderly and mothers.

It is a major complaint, echoed daily, wherever I go, my clients cannot find quality employees. It is a serious problem.

We must get creative and resolve this issue. Here is an alternative solution, hire the young and train them. The young have incredible energy, will do whatever asked, are unspoiled by the system and thus have no preconceived bad attitudes. Many are very bright and very capable of being trained. They come with their own issues, their random schedules, immaturity and lack of skills. Train them, monitor them, manage them, and win…They will work hard and do anything you ask and will learn quickly. However you must not forget they are young and thus have special needs.

Allocate a senior employee to look after them and nurture them, making certain they can get to work, that their schedule is enforced and that they remain focused and on track. You need a training program for them and allot of attention, but they cost less and will work hard and accomplish allot.

The elderly, another wonderful resource, they are experienced and available, that is worth allot, and they cost less. They are typically retired and tend to be unemployable by normal standards, but if managed with understanding and consideration, they can be terrific employees. What is important is the need to understand their personal requirements and to be flexible enough to provide a comfort zone and schedule and workload that meets and serves their needs as well as the employers requirements,. They may need training, but everyone does. Have a specific program for them and a trusted employee who will look after them and your plan will be successful.

Mothers, a terrific resource with enormous talent, their only problem is they have children so they need “mothers hours”. Do it, hire them, be flexible and have a terrific employee.

It will require much internal adjustment, and a lot of time and effort, but in consideration of the importance a quality employee is, its worth the effort and may solve some of your issues.

Obviously some jobs require specific skills and cannot be easily adapted to the untrained young, elderly or mothers without specific expertise and training but in many situations this plan will work.

Try it, its allot better then complaining about the problem and having no plan to resolve this issue at all. Call me for help 413-549-2966.
